Mikhail Fedyaev is a Russian entrepreneur and top manager. He is one of the founders of the Holding company «Sibirskiy Delovoy Soyuz» [Siberian Business Union] (HC «SDS»), and has been its President since 2007.
Mikhail Fedyaev was born on May 16, 1962, in Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo region. In 1985 he graduated from the Kuzbass Polytechnic Institute with a specialist’s degree in “Cars and motor vehicles”.
Since the beginning of the 1990s, he has been engaged in business, and has headed various commercial companies. Working as the head of Kemerovo office of the “MirInvest” company, he got acquainted with his future partner Vladimir Gridin. At the end of 1999, they became managers of the “Chernigovets” coal mine. After that, Mikhail Fedyaev and Vladimir Gridin started forming an industrial group – the Holding Company “Sibirskiy Delovoy Soyuz” [Siberian Business Union], which they registered in 2004. The structure of the company includes a number of dynamically developing assets in various sectors of the economy.
Under the leadership of M. Fedyaev, HC “SDS” is investing in the construction and maintenance of sports, health and entertainment facilities. It finances and organizes sports events of Russian and international level, as well as major federal, regional and city events.
In the spring of 2008, HC “SDS” made a proposal to establish a professional volleyball club in Kuzbass. The initiative was supported by the administration of Kemerovo Region and the Russian Volleyball Federation. Since then, the holding has supported and operated the club.
"SDS" is the sponsor of various sports federations, teams and athletes in such sports as volleyball, boxing, judo, parachuting and billiard sports, bandy, swimming, and tennis.
Since May 2017, Mikhail Fedyaev has been a member of the Commission of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) for the World Boxing Series (WSB), and Chair of the Board of the Russian Boxing Federation Directorate in the Siberian Federal district. He has established a boxing sports complex for competitions and training events in Kemerovo, and boxing sports training centers in Kemerovo Region and the Central Federal district.
Mikhail Fedyaev assigns high priority to public and charitable activities and support for sports at the Russian and international level.
“Tanai Airfield”, the largest dropzone to the east of the Urals, was built on the territory of 1500 hectares; its infrastructure meets all the requirements for national and international competitions in parachuting. Currently, the construction of a modern aerodynamic complex for the development of air-tube disciplines of parachuting is underway. In 2020, “Tanai Airfield” will become the home dropzone of Mondial 2020, the largest event in the history of parachuting in Russia.
In 2011, HC “SDS” built the sports complex “Arena”, which is the home of the volleyball club “Kuzbass” and is considered one of the best sports complexes in Russia. In 2012, the regional center of judo was established, promoting the development of the President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin’s main sport in Kemerovo Region. Since 2012, the Federation of Billiard Sports of Kemerovo Region has received active support from Mikhail Fedyaev. The billiard club “Volna” has remained the best sports club of Kemerovo Region for a number of years.
Social programs for employees of the Holding
The President conducts socially responsible business, implementing a set of internal social programs and projects aimed at ensuring a decent level of the quality of life and health of the employees of the HC “SDS” enterprises and their families. He pays special attention to supporting associations of veterans of HC “SDS” enterprises, numbering more than 17 thousand people. He provides employment and benefits to young and promising professionals.
Support of the clergy
The President provides active financial and organizational assistance in the implementation of social projects and programs of the city and municipal authorities. He has erected temple complexes and chapels in Kemerovo Region and Altai Kray.
